About Us
EMVA is an all volunteer ambulance service
in New York State serving the East Midwood community of Brooklyn. EMVA
is a community-based organization where friendships are made. Team efforts
provide the best in pre-hospital emergency care to our visitors, neighbors,
friends and family. We are a group of civic-minded volunteers who leave the
comfort of their home to answer all calls for help regardless of hour
or weather season. EMVA is an expression of humanitarian values, personal satisfaction,
and growth.
EMVA’s Current Activities:

medical facilities Emergency Receiving area or if conditions permit,
to a hospital of the patient’s choice for emergency treatment and care.
- To promote safety from accidents by disseminating knowledge of
First Aid methods and procedures to the community.
- To be available for community events on a stand-by basis or as
an acting participant in providing free Blood Pressure screening and
Emergency response awareness.
- To respond when called upon by the Regional EMS Council, NYC Office
of Emergency Management (OEM), FDNY bureau of EMS Mutual Aid Response
System (MARS) in the event of a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) or whenever
additional resources are needed
EMVA’s Proposed Activities
EMVA currently provides EMS care at the BLS-Defibrillation level. We are
leading the other regional volunteers in advancing the level of care we
provide. We were an early adopter of the Albuterol program for EMTs. We are constantly striving to improve the
care we provide and we are proud to be recognized as providing superior
medical care by the local community and other responders. Our goal is to
be a fully certified Advanced Life Support (ALS) service in the near future.
